Pen of the Avatar – DarkStarr Moon Dial in Tribute to Starr Long

Making a concept of the Dark Starr Moon Dial. It’s a new artifact available to backers if you pledge at the Citizen level or above before July 31st. This is one of the new items to commemorate Starr re-joining Richard and the team since their time together on Wing Commander.

The goal was to make an interesting concept of what most of us can associate as a sun dial. From there, the planets were adding and different types of supports were put in to place to hold the new dial. Once that was done additional work changed several of the elements and we ended up with three distinct looks. The community gave a quick vote on which one they preferred and added some suggestions. Stephen was more than accommodating and you can see the results below.

Stephen and Gina put out the call for some reference material. Since the team still needs a female lead character for the game they’re looking for community driven shots they can use to develop that character. So instead of searching the Internet for dominant female characters which could lead us to who knows what sorts of results, Stephen is looking to the community to provide the reference material. Send in some headshots of yourself looking badass and combative and you might make it into the concept art phase.

So here we have another cool design for a new Pledge Driven item that will appear in the game. Pledges need to be at the Citizen level or higher and be in by July 31. If you already pledged during Kickstarter this item will be automatically added to your loot!
