The countdown has begun. Not only will we get a persistent world in SotA, but the last set of pledge tiers are about to expire.

As we march toward the Final Wipe and Lot Selection milestone this summer, we are permanently expiring ALL remaining pledges and new Player Owned Towns during the Summer 2016 Pledge Expiration Event, at 10:30 AM CST, August 1, 2016. These final expiring pledges include: Adventurer, Founder, Royal Artisan, Explorer, Ancestor, Edelmann, Knight Marshal, Lord Marshal, Duke, and Lord of the Manor 2.

After three years of hard work, lots of experiments, a few telethons, a round or two of shots, a mishaps or two with Explosive Potions in Braemar, some wrongful accusations of breaking and entering and a minor miscalculation at the crafting station, it looks like something serious is about to happen.

I’m ready for this world to stick around for awhile, after all, it is where I plan to keep all my stuff. Plus, if the town stops getting leveled, it might be worth decorating it in a manner no so befitting that of a shanty. No promises though.

Personally, I think the pledges should have expired out a year or so ago, but that’s just my opinion, and specifically because I already have one. Make no mistake, new pledges will take their place, but I’m sure they’ll be pretty Spartan.

But of course this simply means the world will be persistent, not that the game is done. It’s already been stated we’ll stick to the monthly update cycle for quite some time to come. There will be plenty of tuning and adjustments. And let’s not forget, the rest of the quests, and plenty of side quests will make their way in over time.

It’s all down hill from here! And soon, very soon, it will be the final showdown with Halmar.
